Unless you and your fiancé are professional models, it is unlikely you will have had much experience in front of a camera. Trust me when I say that the average wedding day produces 600+ photos and you will be in most of them!An engagement shoot is a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera, work out what feels good and looks good for you and also get to know the photographer so you can forget about it all on the actual wedding day.
Not to mention it's a great way to have fun with your fiancé, and get some great shots of the two of you!

It is great as a photographer to get to know my clients better before the big day. I spend alot of time talking to my clients, finding out about them. I also find that surprisingly it is usually the groom that takes longer to warm up (and usually feels he has been dragged there) but after a while he gets into it and really enjoys himself. I also try to get one amazing shot of the bride to be. This gives her more confidence in me as her photographer, but also the confidence in herself that she is gorgeous and worthy of beautiful images of herself!"
