Potted centrepieces

More blog browsing, this time over at Simply Seleta (who has the most phenomenal taste ever)... and I found this gorgeous image.
Instantly I had visions of a similarly fabulous flower-pot in my kitchen... but how great would it be to use real potted flowers, in pretty pots as a floral centrepiece?

Recently my uber-talented friend Kathryn had striking centrepieces of phalaenopsis in glass vases- the first time I have seen soil as part of the decoration but the effect was amazing.Image: Jonas Chow
Not only did it look beautiful at the end of the night two lucky people at each table got to take one home as bonbonnierre. And one of those lucky people was me!
I imagine using potted flowers would be more cost-effective and make beautiful gifts for people involved in the wedding- mother, mother-in-law, bridesmaids. Or, keep them for yourself and plant them as beautiful and constant reminders of your wedding day.
